Let’s start it off hot and fresh. A new NDS game just released this week on a very high note; a game that I have been waiting for ages finally been released on the English language (like years after the Japan release which Japan is already getting what, a fourth? bleh). The name of the game is…
One of the better games made for the NDS, arguably the most exciting puzzle games that put your head to work intelectually in a IQ-esque way with a lot of puzzle variety; ranging from easy mind-tease to hard mind-numbing-cluster-fuck-fuck-fuck-hard. There are many puzzle game out there but they only concentrates on single, simple mind-tease puzzle like ever popular Tetris or more recently…
Well, truth be told I only did played PLaTDB through chapter 0: Prologue and it doesn’t disappoints as in it’s really easy in the beginning and get gradually hard as the game progress; now that is a great difficulty curve unlike another game that had garnered a lot of attention in this blog. The difficulty of a puzzle is represented by “Picarats” or generally just points; the higher it is the harder the puzzle but long way through the game, even an easy 10 picarats puzzle gets a lot trickier than when you solve your first 10 picarats.
With that out of the way, let’s talk about the other thing for this post; boxing. Everyone must have heard or watched the most popular boxing movie ever created; the Rocky movie series. And you might also heard, watched or read Japan’s golden boy of boxing; Hajime no Ippo series with it’s manga garnering an 800+ chapters now. Typically, I would either talk Rocky or Ippo but that aren’t random nor more fun to talk about; I want to talk about right now is the Ashita no Joe manga. The story is about Joe Yabuki, a drifter that stumbled upon a poor developing town outside the circle of modernity that is Tokyo. He is a brat and has intellect of a 10 years old kid; brash, likes mischief and above all love a brawl. He’s fast, has strong arm and is built to become a boxer proclaimed Tange Teppei, an old ex-boxer turned drunkard after seeing Joe in brawl with a Mafia gang. He proposed that Joe trains under him to become the best boxer in Japan. That’s how the starting of the story goes, then Joe gets into more mischief, gets a beating from Tange himself and sent to the prison. Inside the prison, he learned the way of the boxer after getting a postcard from Tange instructing him on how to box right. That’s all the story I’ve extracted so far, another 40+ chapter to go.
Time for some sponge and what’s more popular than that square pants wearing sponge; none. Spongebob Squarepants is celebrating it’s 10 years anniversary today and well, they made a website entirely for the yellow dude. Check it out:
Spongebob website HERE!
The cool thing about the website is the video section where they stream for free episodes from the Spongebob cartoon. They have put up season 1 up there, I wonder if they want to up all of Spongebob cartoons then it would be really great like; “Your one stop website for Spongebob cartoons, streamed and ready to roll”. There are some other things there too that I haven’t check it out yet but I’ll do it in due time, for the time being, it’s RO crazed time. That’s right, I’m playing RO again in the MMU server. Read on for my reasons.
Ragnarok Online, that one game where I grow insanely tired of because the lack of new exciting content but there’s one thing that just spark my interest and all of those that may have been following the game will know; the next update which will include the unholy 3rd Job advancement. I’ve heard about it since years back and finally I get the chance to play the thing after years of waiting. Check out this wiki page for 3rd job classes and the sprites appearances:
I have skimmed through every each one and I have to say, the skills are finally looks a lot more balanced than the fucking reborn skills. Acid demo and deadly poison just threw my Knight out of the equation. After looking at the Rune Knight skills, I can say that finally I got some skills to counter those skills; mainly referring to Death Bound and the Rune Mastery skill. If you would kindly check out on the skills effect you may have an idea of what I’m talking about. Let’s just make a scenario out of it; an Assassin with EDP does about 20k++ damage with Sonic Blow and a high level agi Knight usually have say 12k+ HP, death is looming there but what if that Knight have the Death Bound skill? The damage still hits but after that he will counter-attack with the same damage amplified by the Death Bound counter which let’s say 1500% for it’s max level that means 20,000 * 1500% = 300,000 damage; surely will kill the Assassin but there’s a backlashing effect which will cause the Knight to receive half of what the amplified damage does which is 150,000 damage; he will die to but it still kills any pesky enemy during WOE and that will work wonders if you are confronting an enemy that you know will kill you but you still need to kill him; that will be the ideal situation for this skill. Killing enemy is good and all but dying at the same time is not that great so the Rune Mastery skill will give you another option given that situation. Simply pull up Millennium Shield and you will be save for 2-4 hits, use Fighting Spirit to increase damage and attack speed then choose either the Giant Growth or Crush Strike to null his HP to bits but either move will net you a spare weapon or you will go bare after a successful skill combo because both Giant Growth and Crush Strike will break your weapon. Couple this with the parrying, two-hand quicken, concentration and aura blade skill, it will deal a hell lot of damage. That said, I’m anxious to use Rune Knight because I want try each skill and fine tune a strategy to counter all attacking skill in the game; Millennium Shield will finally not make me flinch each time an Acid Demo hits me (hope).
Alright guys, to those that have regularly checked on my blog update, truth is, this is a delayed post. Wanted to post it last Tuesday but work kept me off from writing this. I want to try making a schedule and limiting my posts each week to keep each post fresh or something. Too much posting with nothing are bad but writing nothing is just as bad. So I’m going to post at most only twice a week from now on; preferably on Tuesday and Friday respectively. For those that read the novel thing, I guess it’s on hold for now as I have not have time to write it but if you want an update on the thing I’ll try to update it, just leave a comment here. Till then, cheers.
